Miley To Save The Earth

I was so glad to read today that Miley Cyrus is thinking about the planet. Seems she was getting tired of driving the black Porche that she got on her 16th birthday citing the fact that the Porsche was too big and bad for the environment. Her achy breaky father surprised her the other day with a brand new black Prius. Miley said she likes it better because it’s good for the environment and plus it’s adorable! She then went on to say that the first thing she’s gonna do is get some Hello Kitty floor mats. Well move over Al Gore, Miley has joined the ranks of the other gazillion celebrities who want all the commoners to know just how much they care about the earth. We can all rest easy as we watch them tear out the inside of their mansions and replace everything with earth friendly materials and buy brand new hybrids of all shapes and sizes. Then we have to listen and watch as they cook with strictly organic foods and wines.

Don’t get me wrong, all that is stuff everyone would like to do if they could friggin’ afford it, but Joe Blow can’t afford bamboo floors and hybrid cars and “save the rain forest” cabinets. Anybody been to Whole foods lately? The most I can manage to afford in there is the $3.99 spring rolls, which is still a rip off. I have a suggestion for all these folks: Quit tearing your houses up and quit buying new hybrids. Does anyone think about the energy it takes to make all this stuff and the energy used to get rid of it in the landfills? There are too many cars in the world anyway. New car buyers should be banned from buying another new car for 8 years. That probably wouldn’t be good for the automakers but hell, there’s too many of them too.

I feel better now.

  1. The first three steps in saving the planet should be recycle, recycle, recycle. You're right, it doesn't make any sense to tear out a perfectly good cabinet so you can run out and buy "Sustainably Harvested Wood". As far as Whole Foods goes, I'd rather plant a vegetable garden in my back yard. I KNOW that's organic.
